PAIN MANAGMENT

Acupuncture been proven through scientific studies to treat  the following and more

MIGRAINES AND HEADACHES

Acupuncture decreases migraine attack frequency, duration, days of attack and other adverse effects.   (Liu, et al, 2024)

DIABETIC NEUROPATHY

According to this meta-analysis, acupuncture therapy significantly improved the clinical efficacy of pain intensity, pain changes, and clinical neuropathy in patients with Diabetic Neuropathy (DNP), improved the quality of life of patients to a certain extent, and had lower side effects. This discovery provides evidence-based and practical recommendations for the treatment of DNP patients.

(Li, et al, 2024)

MENSTRUAL CRAMPS

Neuroimaging reveals that people with dysmenorrhea have altered brain functioning. Acupuncture rewires the brain by  activating  the pain modulation  and the limbic system associated with emotion and pain perception. (Chen, et al, 2023)

How Acupuncture Works in Pain Management

Acupuncture relieves pain through  local physiological responses at the needling site, suppression of pain sensation signaling at spine, and by releasing your body's own pain killing chemicals.  Acupuncture also produces pain relief by modulating specific brain networks, integral for sensory, affective, and cognitive processing, as demonstrated by neuroimaging research. Importantly, acupuncture does not just manage pain symptoms but may target the sources that drive pain, such as inflammation, partially by modulating autonomic pathways.
